A nutrition expert has warned that strawberries, despite their health benefits, could pose health risks due to pesticide residue.
Dr. David Cespedes, a public health specialist, said in a video shared on social media that strawberries “absorb more pesticides than any other fruit,” adding that many people mistakenly believe rinsing them with water is enough.
He explained that simply washing strawberries under running water for a few seconds not only fails to remove pesticides but can also cause them to spoil faster.
Dr. Cespedes recommended soaking strawberries in salt water for 10 minutes before rinsing them thoroughly to ensure they are clean and safe to eat.
