Algiers, November 5, 2025 — President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria received Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti at El Mouradia Palace in Algiers on Wednesday. The visit comes ahead of a tripartite consultative meeting on Libya, set to take place on November 6, with the participation of Algeria, Tunisia, and Egypt.
Minister Nafti conveyed greetings from Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed and reaffirmed Tunisia’s pride in the strong ties of brotherhood and cooperation with Algeria. He also expressed Tunisia’s commitment to continued coordination between the two nations in support of regional security and stability.
The discussions highlighted the need for a purely Libyan-led political solution to the crisis in Libya, emphasizing the importance of preserving the country’s unity and sovereignty. Both sides praised the tripartite consultation mechanism as a valuable platform for coordinating efforts among Libya’s neighboring countries under the guidance of the United Nations.
Nafti also briefed President Tebboune on preparations for the 23rd session of the Tunisian-Algerian Joint High Committee, scheduled to take place in Tunisia from December 9 to 12, 2025. The session aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation and advance the partnership between the two countries across various sectors.
