President Saied Calls for Unity and Respect Among Civilizations

Tunisian President Kais Saied received Dr. Salem Ben Mohammed Al-Malek, Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and Miguel Ángel Moratinos, UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations and UN Envoy to Combat Islamophobia, at Carthage Palace on 17 November 2025.

The meeting focused on global cultural and civilizational challenges. President Saied emphasized that no nation or civilization is superior and called for replacing outdated concepts. He stressed that alliances should be based on shared human values, warning that those promoting conflict or Islamophobia will be rejected by history.

President Saied concluded by underlining that justice and freedom must not only prevail within nations but also form the foundation of human society, rejecting divisive notions that classify peoples as “civilized” or “barbaric,” which have historically led to oppression, war, and exploitation. He affirmed that a new global legitimacy is emerging, one that will champion freedom, justice, and ultimate emancipation.
