Tunisian actress Afef Ben Mahmoud has won the Best Acting Performance Award for her role in the film Round 13, directed by Mohamed Ali Nahdi, during the closing ceremony of the 46th Cairo International Film Festival. The film was screened as part of the Arab Horizons competition, and the award marks a significant recognition of Tunisia’s growing cinematic presence on the international stage.
Round 13 had its Middle East and North Africa premiere at the festival, where it competed within the Arab Horizons section. The screening was attended by several members of the film’s creative team, along with a number of Tunisian guests of honor. Among those present were veteran actor Lamine Nahdi, director and actor Mohamed Ali Nahdi, actress Afef Ben Mahmoud, composer Selim Arjoun, as well as numerous journalists covering the festival’s events.
