The death toll from the collapse of two buildings in the Moroccan city of Fez has risen to 22, with 16 others injured, authorities said on Wednesday. The number of casualties may increase as search and rescue operations continue at the site.
The incident occurred in the Al-Mustaqbal neighborhood in the Al-Massira area of Fez, where two adjacent four-story residential buildings collapsed overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday. The buildings were home to eight families.
According to the Moroccan News Agency (MAP), local authorities, security forces, and civil protection teams were immediately dispatched to the scene to carry out rescue operations and take all necessary measures.
