At the 11th United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Global Forum held in Riyadh on 14–15 December 2025, Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, delivered Tunisia’s speech during the general debate.
The Tunisian Minister described the Forum as a key moment to reflect on two decades of intercultural dialogue and to adapt the Alliance’s role to today’s global challenges, marked by polarization, cultural tensions, and rising crises. He stressed that addressing these challenges requires innovative approaches grounded in human solidarity and respect for multilateralism, free from double standards.
Presenting the vision of the President of the Republic, he called for moving from an “Alliance of Civilizations” to an “Alliance for Humanity” that places human dignity and rights at the center of international action. He also emphasized that genuine intercultural dialogue cannot be achieved without addressing the Palestinian cause and ensuring the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights.
The Minister also highlighted the importance of youth, women, and the digital space in promoting dialogue and combating hate speech. He concluded by reaffirming Tunisia’s strong commitment to the UNAOC, noting that the Forum’s final declaration commended Tunisia’s recent international conference on strengthening the Alliance’s role in peace and security.
