Tunisian FM Holds High-Level Talks at UNAOC Global Forum in Riyadh

On the sidelines of the 11th United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Global Forum, held in Riyadh on 14–15 December 2025, Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti, held a series of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening international cooperation.

Minister Nafti met with Miguel Moratinos, UN High Representative for UNAOC and Special Envoy for Combating Islamophobia, who praised Tunisia’s active role within the Alliance. He highlighted the importance of the international conference hosted by Tunisia in November 2025, which helped lay the groundwork for the Riyadh Forum. Both sides discussed enhancing cooperation and the possibility of Tunisia hosting an international UNAOC event in 2026.

The Minister also held bilateral talks with Colombia’s Foreign Minister Yolanda Villavicencio, focusing on expanding trade—particularly Tunisian olive oil exports—as well as cultural and tourism cooperation. Discussions with Touhid Hossain, head of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, centered on strengthening cooperation in the phosphate sector and promoting academic and scientific exchange.

Additionally, Minister Nafti met with several senior officials at the forum, including Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, and foreign ministers and delegation heads from a number of countries, reaffirming Tunisia’s commitment to dialogue, partnership, and multilateral diplomacy.
