The Algerian Ministry of Defense announced that Major General Mohamed Salah Ben Bicha, Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defense, received on Wednesday Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Ghoul, Chief of Staff of the Tunisian Army, accompanied by a high-level military delegation.
The visit comes as part of Algeria’s hosting of the 19th session of the Algerian–Tunisian Joint Committee tasked with monitoring and overseeing the implementation of military cooperation, scheduled from December 21 to 25, 2025.
The meeting included bilateral talks attended by senior officials from both sides, during which the two parties reviewed areas of mutual interest and praised the advanced level of cooperation between the two brotherly armies.
According to the ministry’s statement, both sides stressed the importance of continued and intensified coordination to address shared security challenges, particularly border security, counterterrorism, transnational organized crime, irregular migration, smuggling, and drug trafficking.
