Meta Acquires Singapore-Based AI Firm Manus

Meta Platforms announced on Tuesday that it has acquired Manus, a Singapore-based company specializing in general-purpose artificial intelligence systems, as part of its major investments in AI.

Manus, founded in China before relocating to Singapore, launched its first general AI product earlier this year, capable of performing complex tasks such as market research, coding, and data analysis. The company reported average annual revenues exceeding $100 million within eight months of launch, with a revenue run rate surpassing $125 million.

Meta said the acquisition aims to accelerate AI innovation for businesses and integrate advanced automation technologies into its consumer and enterprise products, including the Meta AI assistant. Manus will continue operating its subscription services without disruption. While financial terms were not officially disclosed, the Wall Street Journal reported the deal value exceeded $2 billion.
