Bulgaria Appoints New Ambassador to Tunisia

Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, received Boriana Siméonova on February 17, 2026, as she presented a copy of her Letters of Credence as the new Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Tunisia.

The minister welcomed the longstanding relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, highlighting the importance of further strengthening ties as both mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations established in 1956. He stressed the need to revive high-level exchanges and deepen cooperation bilaterally, within the framework of relations with the European Union, and at the multilateral level, ahead of upcoming bilateral consultations and the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation.

Discussions also emphasized expanding economic and trade cooperation, alongside enhanced collaboration in ICT, tourism, culture, higher education, youth and sports. For her part, Ambassador-designate Siméonova reaffirmed Bulgaria’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, implementing joint programs, and actively contributing to the anniversary celebrations.
