British police announced on Thursday the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, on suspicion of misconduct during his time in public office.
According to British media reports, police officers arrived at Mountbatten-Windsor’s residence as part of the investigation.
Authorities had earlier stated that they were assessing evidence linked to disclosures contained in what have been referred to as the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest came shortly after Buckingham Palace announced its full readiness to cooperate with police should they make contact regarding the allegations directed at the former royal.
