Tunisia and United States Review Industrial and Energy Cooperation

Tunisia and the United States discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in key industrial and energy sectors during a meeting held on February 20 at the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy.

The meeting brought together Tunisia’s Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, and the US Ambassador to Tunisia, Bill Bazzi, along with senior ministry officials.

Both sides praised the strong and long-standing relations between Tunisia and the United States, highlighting the steady development of their economic partnership.

Discussions focused on cooperation in industrial sectors, including aircraft components, electronics, mechanical industries, ceramics, as well as boosting exports of packaged Tunisian olive oil to the US market. The talks also covered prospects for expanding collaboration in renewable energy, investment, and scientific research in the mining sector.

The US ambassador commended Tunisian expertise, particularly engineers and technicians, and expressed his country’s readiness to further develop investment in Tunisia.
