Tunisian Government Grants 5G Licenses to Accelerate Digital Transformation

As part of Tunisia’s vision to advance its digital infrastructure and foster innovation, Tunisian Head of Government, Kamel Maddouri, presided over the signing of agreements to grant licenses for fifth-generation (5G) mobile networks. The ceremony took place on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Government Palace in Kasbah.

The agreements, which mark a significant step in the country’s digital transformation, will enable the deployment and operation of 5G networks starting in 2025. The event was attended by Tunisian Minister of Economy and Planning Samir Abdel Hafidh, Minister of Communication Technologies Sofian Hmessi, and key industry leaders, including Asaad Ben Dhiab, CEO of Tunisie Télécom, Mansour Rashid Al-Khater, CEO of Ooredoo Tunisia, and Thierry Millet, CEO of Orange Tunisia, stated the Tunisian Government.
