Tunisia and EU Reaffirm Strategic Partnership

On December 19, 2024, Tunisia’s Foreign Minister, Mohamed Ali Nafti, received a phone call with the European Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica.

The conversation highlighted the EU’s commitment to strengthening ties with Tunisia, a key strategic partner, according to a statement by the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.

Minister Nafti emphasized Tunisia’s dedication to democratic transition and equitable dialogue, setting the stage for the 2025 Tunisia-EU Association Council, marking 30 years of partnership. For her part, Šuica praised Tunisia’s role in Mediterranean stability and stressed the importance of collaboration in sustainable development, migration, and renewable energy.
