Tunisia, China: Discussing Strengthening Bilateral Partnerships

On January 3, 2024, Mohamed Ben Ayed, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Wan Li, China’s Ambassador to Tunisia, according to a statement by the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.

Both sides discussed the progress in Tunisian-Chinese cooperation, particularly in light of His Excellency the President of the Republic’s State visit to China in May 2024 and the Head of Government’s participation in the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in September 2024. The talks highlighted development projects in priority sectors such as health, transportation, and infrastructure, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to advancing these initiatives and strengthening their strategic partnership.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership between Tunisia and China.
