Tunisia and Tanzania Strengthen Energy Cooperation

On January 29, Tunisian Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, met with Tanzanian Energy Minister, Doto Biketo, during the « 300 Mission » Energy Summit in Dar es Salaam.

They discussed enhancing energy sector collaboration, supported by funding from the World Bank, African Development Bank, and French Development Agency for 2025-2030.

Tunisia’s STEG International Services has completed 14 projects worth $160 million in 2024, with more underway across Africa. In 2023, STEG won an award for its Rural Electrification Project (REA3/Round 2), highlighting its role in Africa’s energy development. The meeting reflects both countries’ commitment to advancing energy cooperation.
