Tunisia and China Discuss Ways to Enhance Agricultural Exports

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries hosted a meeting with a delegation from China’s General Administration of Customs. The session included officials from the ministry, representatives from the Export Promotion Center, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad. Discussions focused on technical procedures to enhance the export of Tunisian agricultural products—particularly olive oil, dates, and seafood—to the Chinese market.

Both parties emphasized the longstanding historical relations between Tunisia and China and the importance of mutual cooperation in all agricultural sectors. This meeting follows visits by the Tunisian President and Prime Minister to China last year. The two sides agreed to promptly address technical challenges related to health and phytosanitary standards to facilitate smoother trade.
