Sudanese Military Plane Crash Kills At Least 46 People

A Sudanese military plane crashed on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, killing at least 46 people, according to Sudanese authorities. The crash occurred near the Wadi Sidna base, one of the largest military sites in Omdurman.

This incident followed an announcement by the Rapid Support Forces that they had shot down a Sudanese military aircraft in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur state in western Sudan. A military source, speaking anonymously, informed Agence France-Presse that the cause of the crash was a « technical malfunction. »
