Tunisian Interior Minister and Japanese Ambassador Discuss Enhanced Security Cooperation

On Monday, April 21, 2025, Tunisian Minister of Interior,  Khaled Nouri, received the Ambassador of Japan to Tunisia, OSUGA Takeshi, at the headquarters of the ministry.

The meeting highlighted the strong and growing cooperation between the two countries, notably Tunisia’s successful hosting of the 8th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) in August 2022, with the 9th edition scheduled to take place in Japan in August 2025. The two sides also acknowledged the fruitful outcomes of the 3rd Tunisian-Japanese Dialogue on Security and Counter-Terrorism, held in Tunis in December 2023, and looked forward to the 4th edition in Tokyo.

Discussions also covered the joint cooperation program in the fields of security and counter-terrorism.
