47 Earthquakes Hit Istanbul in 3 Hours, Strongest Measuring 6.2 Magnitude

On Wednesday, the city of Istanbul in northwestern Turkey was struck by a series of 47 earthquakes over the span of just three hours, with the strongest tremor registering a magnitude of 6.2 on the Richter scale.

According to information obtained by Anadolu Agency from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), a total of 46 additional tremors occurred before and after the major quake.

AFAD and other relevant authorities confirmed that no casualties or injuries had been reported as a result of the seismic activity.
