Tunisia Calls for Calm in Libya and Offers to Facilitate National Dialogue

Tunisia has expressed deep concern over the recent escalation of violence in Tripoli and cautions that this poses a major risk to both Libyan and other residents in Libyas safety.

In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tunisia called for an immediate cessation of all violence in Libya and urged all parties to renounce violence, and agreed to resolve the situation through dialogue in a mature way.

Tunisia also reiterated its commitment to supporting the peace process, and noted it was ready to host an open and inclusive Libyan-Libyan dialogue, and emphasized on the bases for this engagement were unity, wisdom, and placing Libya, and Libyas national interests, first.
