Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti paid a working visit to Qatar on May 18–19, 2025, at the invitation of Qatars Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani.

During their talks, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deep cooperation in political, economic, educational, and cultural fields and pledged to move forward with negotiations for an Economic Partnership and Free Trade Agreement, with the Qatari-Tunisian Businessmen’s Council serving as a participant in these negotiations, according to a statement by the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.

Minister Nafti conveyed greetings from President Kaïs Saïed to Qatar’s leadership, and reiterated Tunisias appreciation to Qatar for its assistance to the Tunisian community and its support for Tunisian students in Qatars educational establishments.

The two leaders also discussed regional issues, stressing their united stance in support of the Palestinian cause and condemning ongoing violations by the occupying power. Tunisia praised Qatar’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
