Rare 3rd Century BCE Gold Ring Discovered in Jerusalem

Archaeologists have uncovered a rare gold ring set with a polished red garnet in David area in Jerusalem.

According to the Israel Antiquities Authority, the artifact dates back to the 3rd or 2nd century BCE, during the time of the Second Temple period.

This is the second ring of its kind to be found at the site. A similar piece made of the same material was discovered just a few months ago.
