May 2025 Ranked as Second-Hottest May on Record

New data from the European Union’s Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) reveals that May 2025 was the second-hottest May globally since records began, surpassed only by May 2024.

The monthly bulletin from Copernicus highlighted that climate change continues to drive extreme weather patterns worldwide. Last month saw a dramatic heatwave in Greenland, where temperatures soared well beyond historical norms.
