Airspace Closed in Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iraq Amid Rising Tensions

Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iraq have temporarily closed their airspace following a missile strike by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard targeting the U.S.-run Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

Flight tracking service « Flightradar » confirmed that UAE airspace is shut, based on real-time flight data. Bahrain also announced a precautionary closure of its airspace after the Iranian attack, emphasizing safety concerns.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter) confirming the temporary closure of its airspace to protect residents and visitors amid regional tensions.

Iraq’s Ministry of Transport also announced the closure of its airspace, including the southern region, citing security measures.

Iranian state TV earlier announced the launch of « Operation Bisharat al-Fath » targeting the U.S. base in Qatar, escalating already heightened regional tensions.
