Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti led Tunisia’s delegation to the Emergency Arab and Islamic Summit held in Doha on September 15, 2025. Delivering Tunisia’s statement, he conveyed President Kais Saied’s greetings and reaffirmed Tunisia’s solidarity with Qatar following the recent Israeli attack against it.
The statement warned against the ongoing aggression of the occupying power, noting that nearly two years of genocide and starvation policies against Palestinians had now expanded to target Arab and Islamic countries, including Qatar, which plays a key role in ceasefire mediation efforts in Gaza.
Tunisia expressed full support for Qatar’s sovereignty and called on Arab and Islamic nations to strengthen unity and cooperation to confront threats to regional peace and stability. It urged the UN Security Council and the international community to act decisively to halt killings, starvation, and terrorism in the Palestinian territories.
Reiterating its unwavering stance, Tunisia stressed support for the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights, particularly the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. It also expressed hope that the Doha summit would lead to concrete measures reinforcing solidarity with Qatar, supporting the Palestinian cause, and advancing collective Arab security as a strategic necessity.
