Morocco Votes in Favor of UN Resolution to Suspend Death Penalty

On December 17, 2024, Morocco voted in favor of a United Nations General Assembly resolution calling for a moratorium on the implementation of the death penalty.

This marks a shift in Morocco’s stance, as the country had abstained from supporting the non-binding resolution since its introduction in 2007.
