Tunisia and Madagascar to Boost Tourism Cooperation

On January 13, 2025, Tunisian Minister of Tourism Sofiane Takkia met with Malagasy Foreign Minister Rafaravavitafika Rasata to discuss strengthening tourism ties.

The meeting focused on expanding collaboration in areas such as cultural and sports tourism, traditional industries, and vocational training for tourism professions, according to a statement by the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism.

Minister Takkia highlighted the historical friendship between the two countries and proposed joint programs to utilize their memberships in the World Tourism Organization. Minister Rasata expressed interest in benefiting from Tunisia’s expertise in tourism infrastructure and traditional crafts, describing the visit as a new chapter in the 55-year partnership between the nations.

The two sides agreed to hold regular meetings to implement shared projects, signaling a stronger commitment to advancing tourism and fostering economic growth, added the Ministry.
