Strengthening Tunisia-Senegal Relations for Greater African Cooperation

Tunisian President Kais Saied received Senegal’s Minister of Armed Forces, Birame Diop, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, who delivered a message from Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye.

The President emphasized the historical ties between Tunisia and Senegal and expressed hopes of further strengthening cooperation across various sectors.

Saied called for a new approach to African unity, focusing on self-reliance and leveraging local resources to drive development. He urged African nations to overcome past challenges and collaborate to address key issues such as healthcare, education, terrorism, and climate change, ensuring a better future for all Africans, according to a statement by the Tunisian Presidency.
