In Live TV Confrontation, Trump Accuses Zelensky of Being ‘Ungrateful’ and ‘Risking World War III

In an unprecedented televised confrontation, U.S. President Donald Trump told his Ukrainian counterpart that he should « be grateful, » accusing Volodymyr Zelensky of being « disrespectful » and « playing with World War III. »

Following weeks of intense negotiations and statements between Washington and Kyiv, expectations were high for the first meeting between Trump and Zelensky. However, few anticipated it would turn into a heated on-air dispute.

Tensions escalated when U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance remarked that Ukraine lacked the manpower to continue fighting. Zelensky responded sharply, saying Vance had not visited Ukraine to make such claims and challenged him to « come and see » the situation firsthand.
