Tunisia and Egypt Reaffirm Strong Parliamentary and Bilateral Ties

On May 8, 2025, the Tunisian Head of the Parliament Ibrahim Bouderbala received Bassem Hassan, the Egyptian ambassador to Tunisia, at Bardo Palace.

The two sides reiterated their historical relationship of commitment to advancing cooperation in fields such as the economy, culture, and parliamentary. They also expressed agreement on the major regional and international issues facing both countries, especially concerning Palestine and Gaza, and called for sustained levels of coordination.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for Tunisia to reiterate its support for Egypt’s water rights in accordance with relevant international agreements.
