Ahead of the Arab Summit taking place in Baghdad on May 17, 2025, Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti met with his foreign counterparts from Iraq, Algeria and Egypt to enhance bilateral relationships and align thinking on key regional issues, stated the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.
With Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, they both expressed satisfaction for the developing cooperation to enhance trade and tourism. They reaffirmed support of the ceasefire in Gaza and enhanced humanitarian support.
Discussions with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf involved enhancing economic and energy partnerships between Tunisian and Algeria and addressing the situation in Libya through a political solution headed by the UN.
With Egypt‘s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Minister Nafti spoke to expand their economic relationship and expressed similar perspectives on regional armed conflicts, particularly Gaza and Libya.
