Devastating Floods in Nigeria Kill Over 100 People

At least 115 people have lost their lives in severe flooding that struck the town of Mokwa in central Nigeria, officials confirmed on Friday.

The floods, triggered by heavy rains on Wednesday night, destroyed dozens of homes and swept many residents into the Niger River. Rescue teams have so far recovered 115 bodies, with more victims feared missing.

Seasonal flooding is common in Nigeria during the rainy period from May to September, often causing widespread damage and casualties.
