Australia to Recognize Palestinian State at UN General Assembly in September

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced on Monday that Australia will officially recognize the State of Palestine during the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in September.

Albanese said the decision aims to support global efforts towards achieving a two-state solution, securing a ceasefire in Gaza, and ensuring the release of hostages.

The move follows similar declarations from France, Britain, and Canada, adding to mounting international pressure on Israel.
