The Arab-Islamic Summit held in Doha on Monday adopted a final communiqué strongly condemning Israel’s “unlawful and cowardly attack” on Qatar, calling it a grave threat to regional peace efforts.
The statement expressed full solidarity with Doha and praised Qatar’s “civilized and wise” response, warning that targeting a neutral mediator undermines international peace-making. It rejected all justifications for the assault and denounced repeated Israeli threats to strike Qatar again.
Leaders reaffirmed support for mediation efforts by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States to end the war in Gaza, stressing that Israel’s actions aimed to derail peace initiatives. The communiqué also condemned Israeli plans to forcibly displace Palestinians or annex occupied territories, urging urgent international action.
The summit welcomed the UN General Assembly’s adoption of the New York Declaration on the two-state solution, praising the roles of Saudi Arabia and France in securing its approval.
