Tunisia and Iran are moving toward a deeper collaboration in the health and medical industries. On Tuesday, 9 December 2025, Tunisia’s Minister of Health, Mostafa Ferjani, met with Iran’s Ambassador to Tunisia, Mir Massoud Hosseinian, and his accompanying delegation to explore new areas of bilateral cooperation.

The discussions focused on expanding joint work in several key sectors, including modern medical technologies, the manufacturing of medical equipment, the pharmaceutical industry—particularly the production of generic medicines—collaboration on vaccines between Institut Pasteur of Tunisia and its Iranian counterpart, as well as initiatives in “One Health,” organ transplantation, medical tourism, and robotic surgery.

Ambassador Hosseinian emphasized Iran’s commitment to broadening scientific and research cooperation with Tunisia and to strengthening the exchange of expertise across the health sector.
