The United Arab Emirates has confirmed that it has fully ended its presence in Yemen, a decision taken voluntarily to ensure the safety of its counterterrorism personnel and in coordination with relevant partners, according to the UAE Ministry of Defense.
Abu Dhabi said the move aims to allow a comprehensive assessment of the current phase’s requirements, in line with the UAE’s commitments and its role in supporting regional security and stability.
In a statement, the ministry recalled that the UAE joined the Arab Coalition in 2015 to support Yemen’s legitimate government, back international counterterrorism efforts, and contribute to the country’s security and stability, noting that Emirati forces made significant sacrifices to achieve these goals.
