Tunis, March 16, 2026 – The Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Ali Nafti held a phone call with the Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil Pinto, who congratulated Tunisia on the 70th anniversary of its independence and expressed wishes for further progress and prosperity.
As they commemorate the 61st anniversary of the two nations’ diplomatic ties, which were established in 1965, the two ministers praised their solid relationship and emphasized the need to increase cooperation in science, academic exchange, renewable energy, and trade, including promoting Tunisian olive oil in the Venezuelan market.
Additionally, they reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing coordination within multilateral frameworks to support international peace and security and discussed regional and global issues of shared interest.
