Israel Releases 1,966 Palestinian Hostages in Exchange Deal with Hamas

The Israeli occupation authorities announced on Monday, October 13, 2025, the release of 1,966 Palestinian hostages as part of a prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas.

According to local sources, two buses and an ambulance operated by the International Committee of the Red Cross transported the freed detainees from Ofer Prison to the Ramallah Cultural Palace, where hundreds of family members awaited their arrival.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that the Red Cross had informed the Ministry of Health that a significant number of the released prisoners are elderly and suffer from serious health conditions. Many are also reportedly afflicted with skin diseases, attributed to deliberate medical neglect during their imprisonment.
