Apple to Launch Its Cheapest MacBook Yet

Apple is reportedly developing a low-cost MacBook, set for release in the first half of 2026, according to a Bloomberg report.

The new device is expected to be priced well below $1,000, positioning it as a direct competitor to budget Windows laptops and Chromebooks. Currently, the MacBook Air is Apple’s least expensive laptop, starting at $1,000, while the Mac Mini offers a cheaper desktop option at $600 but lacks portability.

This move marks a major shift for Apple, long known for its premium pricing, as the company aims to offer a more affordable entry point into the Mac ecosystem. The new model may also provide an alternative to using an iPad with a keyboard for a laptop-like experience.
