Trump Hosts Saudi Crown Prince for Defense and Energy Talks

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrives in Washington on Tuesday for talks with U.S. President Donald Trump, marking his first visit to the White House since the 2018 killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The trip is expected to include the signing of major defense and energy agreements, bringing long-standing issues between the two countries back into focus.

The White House meeting will also see Trump push for further normalization between Saudi Arabia and Israel, as the U.S. president seeks to expand the Abraham Accords launched in 2020.

For his part, Prince Mohammed is expected to seek security guarantees amid rising regional tensions, as well as access to advanced artificial intelligence technologies and progress on negotiations over a civilian nuclear program.
