President Saied Summons EU Ambassador Over Protocol Concerns

The Tunisian President Kais Saied summoned Giuseppe Perrone, the European Union Ambassador to Tunisia, on Tuesday, expressing objections to actions conducted outside official diplomatic protocols and frameworks.

Saied criticized the ambassador’s failure to respect established diplomatic procedure and reminded him of his obligations as EU representative to the Tunisian state and its institutions.

The meeting followed Perrone’s visit on Monday to UGTT Secretary General Noureddine Taboubi, during which the ambassador highlighted the union’s role in supporting social dialogue and economic development in Tunisia.
