The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti, participated on November 30, 2025, in the opening ministerial dialogue of the International Conference on Colonial Crimes in Africa, held in Algiers as part of the African Union’s 2025 theme, “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparation.”
In his remarks, the Minister emphasized the need to challenge colonial narratives and adopt a comprehensive political, legal, and ethical approach that goes beyond compensation and the return of illegally taken assets. He called for fairer global governance and a review of international policies toward Africa, especially on debt, illicit financial flows, and the exploitation of resources. He also urged greater awareness of the lasting impacts of colonialism, including discrimination and marginalization.
He concluded by recalling Nelson Mandela’s words that Africa’s freedom remains incomplete until the Palestinian people achieve their full rights and independence.
