The Melloula (Tabarka), Babouch (Ain Draham), and Jellil (Ghardimaou) border posts welcomed 1,413,199 Algerian visitors, up from 1,136,834 during the same months last year.
This strong influx has had a positive impact on the region’s tourism sector, boosting economic activity and supporting traditional crafts, tourist transport, and other linked services.
Domestic tourism continues to lead the market in terms of visitors and overnight stays, followed by the Algerian market, the Polish market, and then the Libyan market.
The Ministry of Tourism, in coordination with relevant institutions, is working to improve service quality across all border crossings to further facilitate Algerian arrivals. It is also setting up information desks to assist visitors and ensure a smooth holiday experience in Tunisian destinations.
An additional rise in Algerian tourist numbers is expected during the upcoming school holidays and New Year celebrations.
