Silver Price Surges Above $65 for the First Time in History

Silver reached a historic milestone on Friday, climbing above $65 per ounce for the first time ever, according to trading data.

At 5:28 p.m. Moscow time, March silver futures rose by 0.67% from the previous close to $65.028 per ounce — marking the metal’s first break above the $65 threshold.

This week, global silver prices recorded an unprecedented rally, after spot prices surpassed $60 per ounce for the first time on Thursday, driven by tightening global supply and soaring industrial demand.

Since the start of 2025, silver has jumped from about $28.9 per ounce in January to over $60 in December, an increase of more than 108% in less than a year — the biggest annual surge in the metal’s history.
