Tunisia, China Explore Trade and Investment Opportunities

Minister of Trade and Export Development Samir Abid held a coordination meeting on Saturday, December 13, 2025, with a delegation from China’s Wuhan Yangluo Port Services Group during a new visit to Tunisia.

The meeting focused on strengthening Tunisian-Chinese cooperation and exploring trade and investment opportunities, particularly in Tunisian products such as olive oil and dates. The Chinese side expressed interest in launching large-scale projects and investments, including the rehabilitation of public institutions and cooperation in logistics, financing, and technology transfer.

Minister Obeid stressed the importance of establishing a clear roadmap to implement joint projects and build a solid partnership, highlighting Tunisia’s role as a gateway to African markets. The Chinese group, a state-owned enterprise specializing in international trade and logistics, had previously visited Tunisia in July and reaffirmed its readiness to support Tunisian institutions.
