Tunisia and Kuwait Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti held a phone call on Monday with his Kuwaiti counterpart Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Yahya, during which both sides reaffirmed the strong historical and fraternal ties between Tunisia and Kuwait.

The ministers expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in bilateral cooperation, particularly following the fourth session of the Joint Committee held in Tunis in November 2024, which covered key sectors including the economy, development, security, culture, and the arts. They also highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation into new and promising fields.

Minister Nafti underscored the significance of Kuwaiti investments in Tunisia and praised the longstanding role of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development in supporting major development projects. He reiterated Tunisia’s commitment to attracting further Kuwaiti investment, especially in development, agriculture, and tourism.

For his part, Minister Al-Yahya welcomed efforts to deepen cooperation and stressed the importance of preparing for upcoming bilateral engagements in Kuwait. He also commended the Tunisian community in Kuwait for its role in strengthening social and cultural ties.

The two ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including Gaza, Yemen, and the Horn of Africa, and stressed the need for continued coordination, particularly in support of the Palestinian cause.
