Spain Appoints New Ambassador to Tunisia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti, received on Tuesday the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Tunisia, Isidro Antonio Gonzalez Afonso, who presented a copy of his credentials.

During the meeting, Nafti highlighted the strong friendship and cooperation between Tunisia and Spain, stressing their shared history and close human, cultural, and economic ties within the Mediterranean region. He called for increased high-level visits and deeper cooperation, particularly in economy, trade, investment, and cultural and academic exchanges, as the two countries prepare to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027.

The Spanish ambassador reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation with Tunisia at both bilateral and European levels.
