Libya Aims to Boost Gas Exports to Europe by 2030

Libya plans to increase its natural gas production over the next five years in order to supply larger volumes for export to Europe by early 2030, according to Masoud Suleiman, Chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC).

Speaking on Tuesday at the LNG 2026 conference in Qatar, Suleiman said Libya intends to raise gas output to nearly one billion standard cubic feet per day. He also announced plans to begin shale gas exploration in the second half of this year, Reuters reported.

Suleiman added that Libya holds gas reserves estimated at 80 trillion cubic feet, distributed between conventional and unconventional resources.
