Egypt and Turkiye Sign $350 Million Air Defense Deal

Egypt and Turkiye have signed a $350 million military deal following Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to Cairo, according to Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler. The agreement, part of a broader military framework between the two countries, includes the export of Turkey’s TOLGA short-range air defense system to Egypt.

The deal also provides for the establishment of a factory in Egypt to produce long-range 155mm artillery shells and light ammunition in 7.62mm and 12.7mm calibers. The project will be implemented jointly by Turkey’s Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) and Egyptian authorities to meet the needs of the Egyptian armed forces.
